In Part 1 of WordPress SEO: Top 7 Optimization Areas For Beginners I promised you that I would reveal the 1 WordPress plugin that I use to optimize at least 5 of the 7 areas that I outlined in the last article.

In this article I’ll tell you exactly what the WordPress plugin is, explain why it’s an all in one SEO plugin packed into a neat bundle and even show you how you use it.

Up until now, most people have been using several plugins to achieve the same job. Truth be told, you’re wasting time if you are having to handle several plugins.

Let’s begin with a video that shows you how just 1 plugin can manage 5 of the 7 key areas that I identified in my previous article.

   To summarise the previous article, the areas that I identified that can be optimized for WordPress are:

   1. Page Title
   2. Meta Keywords and Meta Description
   3. More Links
   4. Site Name
   5. Site Description
   6. Permalinks
   7. Written Content

2. How this WordPress all in one SEO management plugin can optimize 5 of the 7 key SEO areas.

   As you can see from the short video tutorial, the plugin we use can effectively maintain 5 of the 7 key SEO areas. Not only that, but it also has the functionality to mass edit several posts and pages in one go. Additional features mean that it can help you to add javascript, stylesheets and also select a different theme on a *per page* basis.

   Not only that, but it allows you to add your Google Analytics code for tracking.

   With all of these features, you can see why it helps to eliminate the need for using several plugins to do the same job.

3. How can an all in one SEO management plugin save you time?

   Using just one plugin instead of several to do the same job can ultimately save you a lot of time. Why? Mainly because it can help to reduce the amount of time you spend maintaining plugins.

   Regular users of WordPress know that the more plugins you add to your system, the more opportunity there is for plugin incompatibilities to occur. Having just one WordPress plugin to manage also means that you only need to update the one, instead of having to visit several sites and installing the latest version of a variety of plugins. This will save you a lot of time in the long run.

   Aside from the time saving aspect, at Knowledge Constructs we also know that our clients prefer simplicity - having to learn to maintain several plugins isn't a good use of time, so we demonstrate how to use the plugin (and save ourselves time too!).

4. Tips on Permalinks for SEO in WordPress.

   While it may be tempting to use the Mass Edit feature for your permalinks... STOP!

   Before any newbies attempt to do something like this, it's worthwhile pausing for a moment and considering these 2 major implications of what changing them might mean:

   • Firstly, if your site has been established for a while and your pages have Page Rank (PR), changing the permalink will mean that the PR value for that page will be lost.
   • Secondly, any incoming links to specific pages will result in 404 errors.

   If you would like to alter your site structure to include text permalinks instead of ID numbers, then make sure you have considered these points and then get a good Redirection plugin to manage any potential site breakages.
