Are you a professional WordPress Web Developer looking to sync your blogroll from one source to multiple WodPress blogs? Or maybe you’ve got some great links on one blog that you just want to transfer to another? Perhaps you’re a WordPress SEO professional looking to create a continuously growing list of links on your various WordPress blogs just by updating 1 source blog?
If you are, then you may want to try out the WP LinkSync plugin by DCoda Ltd (previously named WP BlogrollSync).
I’m going to admit, that it’s not perfect (yet). However, in this post, as well as reviewing this WordPress plugin, I’ll be outlining how the WP LinkSync plugin can be hacked to get it to do what you need. (I’ve also left a comment on the DCoda WP LinkSync page, so hopefully, they might implement these changes without you having to hack the files like I’m about to show you!).
This post will also look at the relatively undocumented WordPress OPML feature that can be used for importing existing blogroll links into a new site. Did you even know that you could do this?

Internet Marketing: Illness »
Written by Zain on October 25th, 2007{ 3 comments }
I’ve been ill.
I still am.
My cough just doesn’t want to shift at all and I’m rattling more than an old jalopy… I’ve had more than just a cold - stomach problems but, really folks, let’s not go there!
Anyway, today’s the first day that I’ve felt like doing a proper post - it’s been a while. I had a few partially written but I think they’re off their sell-by date now. If you’re lucky and I feel up to it, I may finish them off and post them anyway…
So… what’s being ill got to do with Internet Marketing? Well, quite a bit really. What's Internet Marketing got to do with Illness anyway? »»
Embedding Camtasia SWF Videos In WordPress »

Okay, here’s another tip.
For those of you who’ve struggled with getting Camtasia SWF files into your WordPress pages, stop searching. You’ve found the right page.
Let me just say, I’ve struggled with it and spent several hours trying to figure this out a couple of days ago, so with any luck this will help you save *a lot* of time (as well as hassle with trying to use various plugins like Kimili Flash Embed to do the job!). Brighton: Find Rabby Update »
Written by Zain on September 23rd, 2007{ 1 comment }
Regular readers will know that a couple of weeks ago, my son lost his Superman bag containing some Lego and, more importantly, his best friend since he was born - a small, greying, cuddly toy rabbit by the name of Rabby.
There have been many tears shed since Rabby was lost. Knowing that we may never see him again has been unbearable for all of us. My little boy has had ups and downs and has faced many new challenges, such as the start of a new school term, without the security that he’d once found in his best mate. It’s been hard.
My (ex)Wife and I have been bracing ourselves for the worst. We discussed the possibility that Sam may need to find some closure on the matter. Perhaps a little ceremony? Do I start digging a little hole in the garden maybe? I’m not sure what would help exactly…
Well, just 2 days ago, we were called with some news about “a kids bag that has some toys in it“.
Could this be Sam’s bag?
It’s been several weeks since it was lost. What are the chances that this could be the right bag? Each day that passes and it’s getting slim, right? How many kids lose their bags with toys in it?
Let’s not get our hopes up. It’s easy for dreams to be destroyed…
A Weird Winding Journey To Excellence »
Written by Zain on September 17th, 2007{ 2 comments }
It’s been an interesting week.
It’s been one of those periods where it’s been necessary to take a step back, re-assess the current situation and re-double my efforts. Admittedly, not much has really been done this last week. Not for the lack of trying. Or the lack of enthusiasm. Sometimes the universe just delivers a whole heap of junk mail and you just got to sort out the essentials from the spam.
It’s time to start re-focusing on what really matters. And what really matters right now is Excellence…
To kick off tonight’s show, I’d like to start with another little clip from Bill Hicks… (Get used to it people, he’s a major influence and you really got to listen to what this chain-smoking, dead guy is saying!).
Semi-Static WordPress Homepage »

I’m a great fan of Lorelle. She writes some really interesting stuff about WordPress and Blogging and you should all check out her stuff.
Recently (well, last week - but I’m slow at getting round to things as I’m quite busy), she posted up an interesting “challenge” to “help kick [our collective] blogging ass” as she puts it.
Well, I thought I’d share with you all a tip on something that I’ve recently been working on. I’m quite pleased with the result even though the solution isn’t the most ideal and rather raw. It isn’t the most elegant solution as I’d have hoped it to be but it works…
This isn’t specifically a “blogging” tip - it’s more of a theme tip. Or rather a way in which you can push the boundaries of WordPress if you’re inclined to think of WordPress as something other than “a blogging tool”.
And I do.
Now, I know some of you WordPress and Blogging purists are going to hate me. But hey, screw that - WordPress is Open Source and the whole point of Open Source projects is that you can push them to become what you need them to do. Right?
I’m not about to get into a debate on the whole purity of the blog thing right now. Instead, I’m going to show you what’s possible if you put your mind to it.
As you may have gathered, I’m taking up Lorelle’s tips challenge on this one and this post is about creating a Semi-Static WordPress Homepage.
Are you ready? Are you confused? Read on and I’ll explain everything. Semi-Static WordPress Home Page: A How To Guide
Brighton Help Needed: 6 Year Old Loses His Best Friend »
Written by Zain on September 2nd, 2007{ 2 comments }
This morning, the 1st September 2007, my little boy lost his bestest ever friend - a companion who has been with him every day since he was born; a friend who has been there through good times and bad times… Sam’s rabbit Rabby. The most Important; the most Beautiful; the most Magical… Saggy old cloth rabbit in the whole wide world (on the right of the picture).
In WHSmiths at Brighton Station around 11:43am this morning, Sam took off his Superman rucksack so that he could look at some Simpsons magazines. In his excitement he forgot to pick it up again. A simple mistake that would result in unimaginable heartbreak.
Was anyone at the station around that time today who might have seen something? Does anyone know the whereabouts of his bag? Can anyone help bring back some happinesss to a little boy who is beside himself with grief? Has anyone seen Rabby? Can You Help Us To Find Rabby?
