Possibly the shortest post I’m ever going to write. Mainly cause I’m pooped… I’ve been flat out so that FAQ-Tastic Lite version 1.0.7 can be released.

So, here’s what you get:

• A new FAQ-Tastic user manual.

I’d just like to take a moment to thank Michel Fortin for the favourable review he wrote around a year about the original FAQ-Tastic plugin. That review really spurred me on. FAQ-Tastic is much more than that now!

Firstly, apologies for the delay on FAQ-Tastic 1.0.6. It’s been a really busy 2 weeks and it’s not been helped by school half term; having kids about; unexpected guests; cleaning the flat for unexpected guests; assisting on an NLP Practitioner training course; recovering my NLP breakthrough coach client’s hijacked WordPress website (now there’s a blog post case study…); doing NLP allergy interventions (I happen to be a fully qualified NLP Master Practitioner, Time Line Therapist and Hypnotherapist btw) and helping out on the official Skindred website (excellent RaggaMetal band well worth checking out - I’m also happen to be the admin for the Skindred Facebook group and we’ve now got more members than Sherman Hu’s “Friends of Sherman Hu” and “Beginners Guide to Mastering Web Basics” Facebook groups put together since I became the Skindred Facebook Admin! Sorry Sherman… and I’m not even a Facebook specialist! ). Woah… that’s a load of link love!

As you can see, I’ve been a little busy and every moment has been a great learning experience. So now that I’m more on top of things, FAQ-Tastic Lite 1.0.6 will be coming very shortly.

If you check out the new FAQ-Tastic website, you can see how much high quality stuff I’ve been doing - like designing new product shots and putting together the new user manual for the Lite version. There’s still a whole load more to do - like adding the tell a friend scripts and the standard Aweber name captures to be done. It’s not been easy and yes, I did everything from setting up the site to the designs all by myself - I’m not just a pretty face

Why email captures? Well, you Internet Marketers out there will probably get the feeling that I’m gearing up for a proper product launch for FAQ-Tastic Pro. And I am.

For all you newbie Internet Marketers out there you might want to read on, I’ll be detailing the 8 things I’ll be doing for this launch so you can get a better idea of what’s involved and things to do. It’s going to be quite a ride, with all the ups and downs, as I’ve never done a product launch before. There’s going to be quite a lot of things to learn and at the end of the process you’ll be able to gain the experience from my mistakes.

I’ve not been well the last 4 days. Despite the shivers; aches; hot and cold flushes; runny nose and sore eyes, I’ve still been doing whatever I can to get this latest version of our WordPress FAQ plugin out.

Not just that. I’ve also been working hard on completing a new user manual for it. It’s nearly done except I just have to create some supporting pages and add those links to it.

The FAQ-Tastic User Manual is also Fa(q)ntastic - even if I do say so myself. Why? Because this 30 page, PDF user guide been lovingly crafted and taken just over 6 days to complete to include:

• screengrabs of every page in the WordPress administration needed to use plugin (and images of how it would appear on your site)
• a step by step guide showing exactly what to do - from installation, activation to using the plugin.

• an explanation of Paged FAQs and their real purpose.

It’s been an interesting week.

WordPress Meta Plugin SEO Fight: HeadSpace2 vs Ultimate Tag Warrior

We’ve just updated our WordPress FAQ-Tastic plugin to version 0.9. This fixes an issue that some people were experiencing with the votings system not working properly. Please feel free to download version 0.9 of our WordPress Frequently Asked Questions plugin.

A properly search engine optimized site (SEO) can be simple to make if you know how. FAQ-Tastic is a simple WordPress FAQ plugin. When I first had the idea for it, I didn’t realise that it would be popular and get an excellent review by Michel Fortin. It was simply aimed to fill a gap in the WordPress plugin market while also helping Internet Marketers create authority sites using WordPress.

The idea originally came about from some work I have recently been doing to help promote an NLP Training company. Having studied a little about search engine optimisation (admittedly, I am still a newbie in this SEO game!), the general message I was starting to understand was that search engines love sites that are “authorities” in a specific niche.

Thinking about how to create authority sites, I began researching and experimenting with simple solutions using WordPress and various plugins. It was at this point that I began looking for an FAQ plugin.

The thing that surprised me was the lack of WordPress FAQ plugins. Until the release of FAQ-Tastic, there was only 1 FAQ plugin for WordPress available - the WordPress FAQ plugin by VaamYob. Looking at various posts, it was obvious that there wasn’t any choice about the plugin to use even though people wanted more choice about the FAQ functionality for their WordPress sites.

The need for a good plugin was apparent. The time was right to create a new FAQ plugin but it still wasn’t the over-riding factor that made me choose to build FAQ-Tastic…
