Internet Marketing: Attention Age Video and More

As regular readers may know from my last post I was a little disappointed at how things were on my site in general. I’d neglected it and not paid enough attention to it.

Well, “paying attention” is exactly what I’ve been doing recently – to my site; to my themes; to things that matter.

Having a chance to re-group, here’s a list of the top 5 things I’ve been doing recently:

1. Re-designed Site, WordPress theme and Content Ideas

   Spurred on by both Michel Fortin's excellent article on the 7 Deadly Sins of copywriting as well as the recent Rich Schefren Attention Age Doctrine {aff}, I felt the need to re-vamp *everything*. After all, these guys are excellent and to ignore their advice would be downright foolish...

   Brainstorming, mind-mapping and re-building, I've now been working on some new fresh ideas that you'll see in the coming weeks. As you can see the website has been re-built and it's probably the cleanest skin to date. This new theme has also been tested in IE6 & IE7 as well as FireFox 1.5 and 2 *AND* (for the first time) Safari (... yeah, I know - sorry Mac user's: the last theme didn't render properly but I didn't have a Mac then!!!).

   There's only a few tweaks left to do but I decided to create a...

2. New free WordPress Christmas theme for download

   It's the Christmas season and I just couldn't help myself. :)

   You can now download your Christmas version of this WordPress theme.

   As part of my new ideas, I'll be doing a set of tutorials on how you can tweak the theme so that it looks like this site. Don't worry, I'll be doing them so even a 4 year old could follow the guides!

   I'll be doing variations on this theme very soon. Check back for my polls on which colours you'd like me to build next.

3. FAQ-Tastic and FAQ-Tastic Pro: News Update

   We've recently been building and testing a newer, better version of FAQ-Tastic that's fantastically called FAQ-Tastic Pro! I'm not going to tell you much about it here but stay tuned and I'll reveal all over the coming weeks.

   This also means that FAQ-Tastic has also been upgraded so keep an eye out for this. I'll be updating the site soon!

4. Top Secret e-Book Project

   Okay.. so now it's not a Top Secret project! And yes, now that I've written it and it's out on the internet, that means that I'm going to have to finish it. I've been working on it for ages but, again, didn't give it the attention it needed. So now you're all expecting an e-book now that I've said it.

   What's the about? Well, naturally it's about WordPress... but all will be revealed very soon. I've got a few ideas that I'm sure people will appreciate. Unfotunately, I'm good at writing 93 pages of self promotional copy with 5% of useful information but I'm going to give it a go! ;)

   And finally I decided to creat a video for:

5. Rich Schefren's Attention Age video contest

   Yes, I know it's a late submission for Rich Schefren's Attention Age Video Contest (and that the video should've been in last Saturday).

   I'm not expecting it to be entered for the competition - it was more about learning something new and having fun doing it!
