After all, it does do it when you try to add users to your contact list, so surely only people on your list should be able to contact you. Instead, it seems that any random person can have a chat using text instead of video or audio... And that's precisely what happened - random text chats, without verification or any means of blocking appearing on my machine. I'm still wondering why they've not fixed this issue yet. And others sent by allegedly 25 yr old Philippinas or Jamaicans, etc... I hate being solicited, so I get very annoyed. I find it intrusive and stupid. And at some point costly I am also sick of this sell, sell, sell mentality. People would sell their kids into slavery for money. Spam and email is a real problem (I download frequently with my mobile phone, which is costly). The best way with Skype, I guess, is to close off the system to the outside. If anyone wishes to communicate with me, they have to ask my permission. I can then accept or deny. That seems to keep the salesmen from my door. I get these messages frequently.
