Firstly, apologies for the delay on FAQ-Tastic 1.0.6. It’s been a really busy 2 weeks and it’s not been helped by school half term; having kids about; unexpected guests; cleaning the flat for unexpected guests; assisting on an NLP Practitioner training course; recovering my NLP breakthrough coach client’s hijacked WordPress website (now there’s a blog post case study…); doing NLP allergy interventions (I happen to be a fully qualified NLP Master Practitioner, Time Line Therapist and Hypnotherapist btw) and helping out on the official Skindred website (excellent RaggaMetal band well worth checking out - I’m also happen to be the admin for the Skindred Facebook group and we’ve now got more members than Sherman Hu’s “Friends of Sherman Hu” and “Beginners Guide to Mastering Web Basics” Facebook groups put together since I became the Skindred Facebook Admin! Sorry Sherman… and I’m not even a Facebook specialist!
). Woah… that’s a load of link love!
As you can see, I’ve been a little busy and every moment has been a great learning experience. So now that I’m more on top of things, FAQ-Tastic Lite 1.0.6 will be coming very shortly.
If you check out the new FAQ-Tastic website, you can see how much high quality stuff I’ve been doing - like designing new product shots and putting together the new user manual for the Lite version. There’s still a whole load more to do - like adding the tell a friend scripts and the standard Aweber name captures to be done. It’s not been easy and yes, I did everything from setting up the site to the designs all by myself - I’m not just a pretty face
Why email captures? Well, you Internet Marketers out there will probably get the feeling that I’m gearing up for a proper product launch for FAQ-Tastic Pro. And I am.
For all you newbie Internet Marketers out there you might want to read on, I’ll be detailing the 8 things I’ll be doing for this launch so you can get a better idea of what’s involved and things to do. It’s going to be quite a ride, with all the ups and downs, as I’ve never done a product launch before. There’s going to be quite a lot of things to learn and at the end of the process you’ll be able to gain the experience from my mistakes.
(Oh… and just to be clear: there are NO affiliate links in this post, just pure value!)

FAQ-Tastic Lite 1.0.6 & User Manual: Coming soon »
Written by Zain on April 8th, 2008{ 1 comment }
I’ve not been well the last 4 days. Despite the shivers; aches; hot and cold flushes; runny nose and sore eyes, I’ve still been doing whatever I can to get this latest version of our WordPress FAQ plugin out.
Not just that. I’ve also been working hard on completing a new user manual for it. It’s nearly done except I just have to create some supporting pages and add those links to it.
The FAQ-Tastic User Manual is also Fa(q)ntastic - even if I do say so myself. Why? Because this 30 page, PDF user guide been lovingly crafted and taken just over 6 days to complete to include:
- screengrabs of every page in the WordPress administration needed to use plugin (and images of how it would appear on your site)
- a step by step guide showing exactly what to do - from installation, activation to using the plugin.
- a detailed explanation of the difference between Simple and Paged FAQs.
- an explanation of Paged FAQs and their real purpose.
- bookmark links to easily jump to the section you need.
- and best of all… it’s FREE!

WordPress 2.5 Brecker: No Page Slugs??? »
Written by Zain on March 31st, 2008{ 8 comments }
Yeah, I know… I’ve been away for a really long time. Too long. Don’t expect me to make up excuses and apologise for my absence.
I’m back with a renewed focus. I’ve been working on getting FAQ-Tastic properly released. And some of you may already know there’s a Pro version in the pipeline. Well… It’s nearly here. So sorry for the delay (nuts… I just apologised didn’t I? Damn my Englishness).
Well there’s a snag with the new FAQ-Tastic plugin… Last Saturday saw the release of WordPress 2.5 (a.k.a Brecker - after “an exceptionally talented saxophonist” Michael Brecker. Who knew? Who cares?). Now I got to test with this new version…
Anyway, I’ve only just managed to download WordPress 2.5 and start having a play with it today. This “Brecker” version *is* pretty cool and has some *really* (and I mean *REALLY*) cool features…But one thing troubles me:
HOW THE *&$( DO YOU EDIT THE PAGE SLUGS IN WP2.5?!?!
OMG, do you realise how serious it is for your average Internet Marketer if they’ve taken the slugs away?LOL… okay, don’t worry. They’ve not taken the page slugs away - it’s just not intuitively found. Most bloggers wouldn’t think of changing their page slugs but for anyone serious about Search Engine Optimization, changing the page slugs is ESSENTIAL!
So I’m going to show you how. And cause I’m nice, I’m going to give you pictures too (actually, they’re screenshots for a new ebook I’m doing) WordPress 2.5: Changing the Page Slug (with images)
Internet Marketing: Attention Age Video and More »

As regular readers may know from my last post I was a little disappointed at how things were on my site in general. I’d neglected it and not paid enough attention to it.
Well, “paying attention” is exactly what I’ve been doing recently - to my site; to my themes; to things that matter.
Having a chance to re-group, here’s a list of the top 5 things I’ve been doing recently:
- Re-designed Site, WordPress theme and Content Ideas
- New free WordPress Christmas theme for download
- FAQ-Tastic and FAQ-Tastic Pro: News Update
- Top Secret e-Book Project
- Rich Schefren's Attention Age video contest
Internet Marketing: Illness »

I’ve been ill.
I still am.
My cough just doesn’t want to shift at all and I’m rattling more than an old jalopy… I’ve had more than just a cold - stomach problems but, really folks, let’s not go there!
Anyway, today’s the first day that I’ve felt like doing a proper post - it’s been a while. I had a few partially written but I think they’re off their sell-by date now. If you’re lucky and I feel up to it, I may finish them off and post them anyway…
So… what’s being ill got to do with Internet Marketing? Well, quite a bit really. What's Internet Marketing got to do with Illness anyway? »»
A Weird Winding Journey To Excellence »
Written by Zain on September 17th, 2007{ 2 comments }
It’s been an interesting week.
It’s been one of those periods where it’s been necessary to take a step back, re-assess the current situation and re-double my efforts. Admittedly, not much has really been done this last week. Not for the lack of trying. Or the lack of enthusiasm. Sometimes the universe just delivers a whole heap of junk mail and you just got to sort out the essentials from the spam.
It’s time to start re-focusing on what really matters. And what really matters right now is Excellence…
To kick off tonight’s show, I’d like to start with another little clip from Bill Hicks… (Get used to it people, he’s a major influence and you really got to listen to what this chain-smoking, dead guy is saying!).

This post is dedicated to all you tight-fisted, freeloading, miserly, penny-pinching, curmudgeonly, skinflints and tightwads.
John Godley from Urban Giraffe has just hit upon yet another *GENIUS* idea to start getting you penny pocketing cheapskates to pay up for the simply amazing work that he’s done.
Not only that, he’s created yet another mind-blowing plugin that’s going to help your WordPress sites. Kitten Pay: Cough Up Or Cry
Michel Fortin ROCKS! »
Written by Zain on July 1st, 2007{ Add Comment }
I have a confession to make (don’t you just love that opening line?). A couple of months ago, I’d never even heard of Michel Fortin. I couldn’t even pronounce his name as I couldn’t work out if it was “Me-Shell Four-tuhn” (as it appear’s French in orgin) or just plain “Michael Fort’in” (Americanised). I had no idea who he was or what he did until I got an email from my very clued up Internet Marketing friend, Saumil, in India…
Basically, I’d just released this plugin (an update are coming soon, I promise) and I get this email from Saumil saying how this guy Michel Fortin had written a very nice review about FAQ-Tastic.
My initial response was like “Cool! …uh, who’s Michel Fortin?” and his reply was along the lines of “ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?” (okay, so I’m paraphrasing for dramatic effect here!). He went on to explain how Michel’s actually really big in the copywriting niche and has a huge list and usually charges for reviews - so basically I’d already made my money back on the plugin I’d commissioned!
Nice.

John Godley is probably the best Developer I’ve never met.
Bound by the same invisible threads and united by our passions to create only the best that we can, as foreigners in foreign lands, all I know is John’s a Caucasian in an Asian land and I’m an Asian in a Caucasian land.
Yet here we are, sharing ideas and communicating through space and time… (well, we are in different continents and there is a time difference
).
Don’t you just love the Internet…? Read more »
